Eat and Drink
“Ludlow’s reputation as a centre for some of Britain’s best food & drink is well founded – it certainly isn’t marketing hype!’’
Ludlow Food Centre
Local and handmade food retailer with on-site kitchen, for meat, dairy products, jams and breads. A one-of-a-kind shopping environment where farming, passion for great food and retail come together to create an award-winning experience.
CSONS
The CSONS at The Green Cafe, is a friendly cafe-restaurant situated on the banks of the River Teme overlooking the weir and Dinham bridge. Ludlow castle is in the background, with the Millennium Green, a large grassy area on the side, perfect for picnics and often described as “Ludlow’s beach”.
Broad Bean
Broad Bean Delicatessen has been a member of the Guild of Fine Food since we took over the shop three years ago, and this year we are a finalist in the prestigious Guild of Fine Food Shop of the Year. The shortlist included only 12 other delicatessens in the country. This is an enormous achievement for Broad Bean and indicates that the shop is one of the best in the country for providing its customers with an extensive range of fine food and drink from around the world.
Mortimers
A local forest gives this 16C townhouse restaurant its name. It has plenty of character, courtesy of exposed stone, sloping floors and lovely wood panelling. Concise set menus offer classically rooted dishes with a personal touch.
The GEORGE
Ludlow’s new addition, The George is a historic Grade II listed property which has been restored to be a welcoming place for the local community. The bar and restaurant will be open for morning coffee with the papers, for after-work drinks with friends, and for dining with family.
The Church Inn
Nestled in the centre of the idyllic Shropshire town, Ludlow, the Grade II listed building harbours the warmth and character one would expect from what was originally an 14th Century house. Hand-picked ales are a highlight, and are proudly sourced from local breweries within Shropshire itself, and also from the neighbouring West Midlands.
Rose & Crown
A hidden gem approached through a cobbled courtyard between the market square and Saint Lawrence church, this traditional Inn is one of England's ancient public houses. Serving six real ales, good wine and a selection of gins. With good honest homemade food using local suppliers.
The Charlton Arms
Homemade food, local ales, luxury accommodation. Situated on the iconic Ludford Bridge, a short walk from the town centre of Ludlow. An independently owned and family run pub. Whether returning from a muddy walk through Whitcliffe common or organising a special romantic supper, you will find exactly what you are looking for.
